    How matching works

    1. Count the rack. Each letter may be used only as many times as it appears.
    2. Spend wildcards carefully. Each ? covers one missing letter in one result. It does not stand for an unlimited run of letters.
    3. Apply the mode. Any available letters includes shorter matches. Use every tile requires a word with exactly the rack length, including wildcard positions.

    Dictionary scope

    The bundled list contains 39,053 lowercase A-Z word forms from the English and American SCOWL files through size 35, limited to 2 through 15 letters. It includes common inflections, but omits names, contractions, accented forms, punctuation, and many specialist or regional terms.

    This is a general spelling list, not an official rule list for any word game. A puzzle, school dictionary, or competitive game may accept a different set of words, so check unusual results against the authority for your activity.

    Practical limits

    • Racks are limited to 15 tiles and two wildcards. Searches show at most 500 matches, while the match count reports the full number found in the bundled list.
    • Sorting uses word length and ordinary A-Z order. The tool does not calculate game scores, board placement, definitions, or word frequency.
    • Words stay exactly as entered while an error is shown. Changing the rack or a search setting clears stale results.
